Ryan Israel

Therapist, Founder of Great Lakes Psychotherapy

Ryan Israel is a dually Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW in Florida; LICSW in Massachusetts) which he obtained having carried out 1500 hours of supervised therapy and a hundred hours under a clinical supervisor. He provides bespoke therapy for adults, couples, families, and children. With a clinical foundation built at the University of Michigan School of Social Work (Masters of Social Work), Ryan specializes in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and complex relationship dynamics. His approach is rooted in evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, and Family Systems, designed to dismantle emotional blockages and foster genuine personal growth.

What sets Ryan’s practice apart is a unique professional trajectory and a deep commitment to accessibility. Before transitioning to mental health, he practiced as a Florida and Michigan licensed attorney, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University. This background provides him with a disciplined, analytical perspective on navigating adversity.

Currently, Ryan offers high-level therapeutic interventions across the UK, Florida, and Massachusetts. In London, sessions are available both in-person and online, while US-based clients are seen via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Whether working with children through play therapy or helping adults manage caregiver stress and grief, Ryan’s goal is to help clients explore their emotions directly and develop practical strategies for the life they aspire to lead.
